In Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam, many young people face persistent unemployment and limited economic opportunities, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and difficult living conditions. Women and girls are particularly affected, facing significant barriers to education, training, and income generation.
The Youth Economic Empowerment Project equips vulnerable youth, especially girls, young women, and people with disabilities, with practical tailoring and knitting skills that open pathways to employment and small‑business creation. By increasing economic opportunities, the project works to reduce poverty, promote inclusion, and support long‑term self‑reliance.
Practical skills training is strengthened through workshops, mentorship, and Community Transformation Groups (CTGs), helping participants build confidence, leadership, and core business skills.

- Equip participants with tools, materials, and mentorship to begin earning an income
- Strengthen economic independence through entrepreneurship and employment pathways
- Support the creation of CTGs that encourage personal development, peer support, and long‑term growth
- Build partnerships with local organizations to ensure sustainable impact
