In Nairobi’s Kibra slum, many young women face extreme poverty, violence, and lack of opportunity, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.
In 2024, African Enterprise Kenya is equipping 25 women through the Kibra Women’s Empowerment Project. Participants receive vocational training in sewing, hairdressing, or beauty therapy, alongside life-skills development, small business training, and discipleship. Each woman also gains access to counselling and a Community Transformation Group for ongoing support.
Graduates leave the program with practical tools, such as sewing machines or salon kits, enabling them to start small businesses, support their families, and restore dignity and hope within their community.
