This project is a continuation of similar projects that were started in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and supported by AE Australia, on the life transformation of the most vulnerable women in the Arba Minch area who make their living through collecting firewood and street vending. Each of the 4th & 5th round projects aim at training 15 women that are engaged in street vending and firewood collection for sale so they could be able to feed their children and buy school materials. After 6 months of training (4th round: 8th Jan – June 30th 2024; and 5th round: 1st July to 20st Dec 2024) the project aspires at transforming the lives of these women, and hence their families by providing life skills and pertinent training on sewing and embroidery.

In addition they will be encouraged to set up their own business as Sewing Work Group (WG) of 3 women in 1 group as soon as they have finished their apprenticeship. The 5 workgroups (WG) will form a Community Transformation Group (CTG).
