The development of the project proposal started out of the conviction to assist the underprivileged population, mostly the vulnerable young women living in the remote municipalities of the capital city of Kinshasa, mostly those in Maluku where we have initially conducted stratified outreaches. With the help of local facilitators, we realized that realities on the ground revealed the great needs among the young women, whereby most of them are unwed mothers who struggle to make a living for themselves and for their fatherless children.

Also, the dire poverty and predicament experienced by the unwed and those young women who have not been able to get in the formal education, made them more vulnerable and exposed to sexual abuses by irresponsible men. Interviewing such vulnerable women, and learning about their individual stories was just heartbreaking, and call for a compassionate action to alleviate their suffering and bring meaning and hope in their lives, and a better future.

Our endeavours are around a targeted holistic life transformation, and creation of an environment conducive to bringing back hope and meaning for the participants. More particularly, we are focusing the sewing vocational skills, and lifestyle education training to initiate healthy integration in the community. We believe that with sewing skills, and lifestyle training these women will recover their hope and meaning in life. Beyond the immediate hope recovery in the participants, improved life quality enabling them to influence life in their families and community, and among their peers.
