In Malawi, many widows and vulnerable women are marginalised and trapped in poverty. Some have lost husbands to HIV and AIDS, while others turn to sex work to survive. By offering access to tailoring training, business skills and counselling support, this project helps restore dignity and hope for a better future.
Your support can:
- Equip 40 women with skills in tailoring, business and money-saving
- Provide trauma-affected participants with holistic counselling support
- Ensure graduates will receive small business start-up resources, including a sewing machine
Her story:
Winina Adam is a graduate from the first ever Malawi sewing course in 2016. She lives in a small village in Lilongwe. Now, she has a sewing business which allows her to provide for her family. She also sews clothing for local children in need.
