In Zambia, widespread poverty and unemployment leave many women vulnerable to school dropout, sex work and abuse. Run in partnership with the local church, this program equips them with tailoring skills, counselling and small business resources, helping women build sustainable livelihoods, support their families and spark widespread change.
Since 2023, African Enterprise Zambia has equipped 24 vulnerable women each year with sewing skills, practical resources and holistic counselling, helping to restore dignity, confidence and self-sufficiency.

- Ensure graduates will receive small business start-up resources, including a sewing machine
Her story:
Taonga Zulu graduated as part of the 2024 cohort. “A dream comes true and I am grateful to God” she says. Taonga joined one of AE’s Community Transformation Groups in Lusaka, which led her to the vocational training course. “Sometimes it was interesting, sometimes tough and challenging, but it was worth it…this is a life-time transformation”.
