With unemployment rates on the rise, it is so important to provide young people in society with the skills to give them the best chance at life. AE Ghana has set up the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) to train young people, aged 18-35, with skills in IT and vocational studies, such as bakery, detergent making and tailoring. These skills will allow both boys and girls to improve their employability, and even to start their own businesses in their communities.

Her story:
Stephany Esi Amoah is a 19 year old woman, who was struggling to plan for her future. “After completing my secondary education in 2022, I found myself at a crossroads in my career ambitions. Recognising the potential of the digital world, I realised that pursuing a career in art and multimedia would allow me to leverage the skills I developed at the AE ICT training program, while also enabling me to express my creativity and make a significant impact in the community. I heard about the African Enterprise IT program through my church, and I saw it as an incredible opportunity to enhance my IT skills.”
