Movement Day Africa 2018 has brought together approximately 500 church and marketplace ministry leaders. It has been an exciting time of fellowship and rallying together to strategise effective impact of the gospel throughout African cities.
Once again, Movement Day Africa 2018 has reaffirmed the great value of networking and partnerships in enhancing the African Enterprise’s mission of reaching the cities of Africa with the gospel.
AE’s CEO and International Team Leader, Dr. Stephen Mbogo, was one of the key speakers at the conference. In his speech, he charged the delegates to give a greater focus on Africa’s young urban population. We believe this is a key strategy to effectively reaching the continent of Africa with the gospel.
The event partnered with the Luis Palau association to run a “Baraza” (track session) on Mobilising, Training and Connecting Local Evangelists. Janet Mwendwa, AE’s Social Action Director and Serve the City CEO, Carlton Deal ( also an AE Europe Board member), shared in a track on Reaching the Urban Poor.
At the end of the conference, delegates from 32 different nations signed “The Nairobi Pledge”, confessing and documenting their commitment to partner with like-minded leaders from around the world passionate about seeing the cities of Africa flourish spiritually and socially through the transforming power of the gospel. Additionally, representatives from 49 African cities expressed their desire to take Movement Day to their cities!
African Enterprise is honoured to have played a critical role in organising and running this conference.
The Lord of the harvest is, indeed, bringing more workers into the field of African cities, and AE is glad to be part of this process! Please pray that God continues to move in the hearts of those who attended Movement Day Africa and that they will bring this heart of cooperation and passion for the gospel to their own cities.
